The dutch company Xilloc Medical B.V. announced today that it has successfully acquired OTN B.V. for an undisclosed amount. The company OTN is the market-leader worldwide in orthopedic Click Safety Adapters. Both companies established a successful business relationship three years ago and their CEO’s had a “click” from the start.
With this acquisition Xilloc expands its product portfolio in the orthopedic market to be able to help more patients worldwide; Xilloc currently uses 3D printing to produce patients specific (osseointegration) implants and the Click Safety Adapter makes a solid and safe connection between such an implant and the patient’s prosthetic leg. As such, it is a logical extension of Xilloc’s portfolio.

Improved value for the Patient
The difference between an osseointegration implant combined with a Xilloc Click Safety Adapter compared to the conventional socket prostheses placed over the soft tissue stump is clearly visualized on the skeleton stand in the X-Ray images below. With the Click Safety Adapter the prosthetic leg is connected directly onto the skeleton this provides stability and this allows for improved walking and joint movement. Where as the conventional socket prostheses often demonstrate the opposite resulting in an unhealthy stand of the body. This highly innovative technique contributes to the amputees’ quality of life in an unrivaled way to date!

Die niederländische Firma Xilloc Medical B.V. hat heute die erfolgreiche Übernahme von OTN B.V. bekannt gegeben. Die Firma OTN ist der weltweite Marktführer in orthopädischen Click Safety Adaptern. Die beiden Firmen haben vor drei Jahren eine erfoglreiche Geschäftsbeziehung aufgebaut und auch zwischen den Geschäftsführern hat es von Anfang an “Click” gemacht.
Mit dieser Übernahme vergrößert Xilloc das Produktportfolio im orthopädischen Markt. Xilloc verwendet derzeit den 3D-Druck, um patientenspezifische Osseointegrationimplantate herzustellen. Een perfecte “klik” tussen Xilloc en OTN

Het Nederland bedrijf Xilloc Medical B.V. heeft vandaag aangekondigd OTN B.V. te hebben overgenomen. Financiële details zijn niet bekend gemaakt. Het bedrijf OTN is wereldwijd marktleider in orthopedische Click Safety Adapters. Beide bedrijven werken al drie jaar samen en hun CEO’s hadden een “klik” vanaf het begin.
Met deze overname breidt Xilloc zijn product portfolio uit in de orthopedische markt, zodat ze nog meer patiënten wereldwijd kunnen helpen; momenteel gebruikt Xilloc 3D printing om patiënt-specifieke (osseointegratie) implantaten te produceren en de Click Safety Adapter maakt een solide en veilige verbinding tussen zo’n implantaat en de prothese van de patiënt. Als zodanig is het een logische uitbreiding van Xilloc’s portfolio.

Meer waarde voor de patiënt
Het grote voordeel van een osseointegratie implantaat gecombineerd met de Click Safety Adapter ten opzichte van de klassieke koker-prothese die men over de stomp schuift is duidelijk te zien aan de stand van het skelet op onderstaande röntgenfoto’s. Bij een traditionele koker-prothese is de stand van het skelet niet meer natuurlijk. Met de Click Safety Adapter wordt de prothese direct verbonden met het skelet, wat zorgt voor stabiliteit en wat de loopbewegingen natuurlijker maakt. L’entreprise Néerlandaise Xilloc Medical B.V. a annoncé aujourd’hui d’avoir acquiert avec succès OTN B.V. pour un montant non dévoilé. L’entreprise OTN est le leader du marché mondial en ‘Click Safety adapters’ orthopédiques. Les deux entreprises ont établi une relation d’affaires il y a trois ans et leurs CEO ont eu un ‘click’ dès le début.
Avec cette acquisition, Xilloc élargit son portefeuille de produit orthopédique pour pouvoir aider plus de patients dans le monde. Xilloc utilise l’imprimerie 3-dimensionelle pour fabriquer des implants spécifiques pour chaque patient (implants osseointegration) et pour la production du ‘Click safety adapter’ qui fonctionne comme la pièce de connexion entre l’implant et la jambe prothétique du patient. En tant que tel, c’est une extension logique pour le portefeuille de l’entreprise.

La différence entre un implant osseointegration combiné avec un ‘Click safety adapter’ de Xilloc et une jambe prothétique conventionelle est bien visible sur la position de la squelette debout sur la radiographie ci-dessous. Quand le ‘Click safety adapter’ est connecté directement à la squelette il offre une stabilité supérieure ce qui permet une marche et des mouvements articulaires améliorés alors que la jambe prothétique conventionnelle résulte souvent en une mauvaise position du corps humain.
